Sixth Form Super Curriculum
Super-curricular activities are all about taking what you learn in the classroom that little bit further.
They give you the chance to explore subjects and careers that interest you, discover new ideas and start finding out what really excites you about your future.
That might mean listening to a podcast, reading an article or book, attending a lecture, completing an online course, entering a competition, visiting somewhere relevant or simply following a question that has sparked your curiosity.
Super-curricular activities matter whatever your plans after Sixth Form. Universities are interested in students who have explored their subject beyond the syllabus; degree apprenticeship providers want applicants who can demonstrate genuine enthusiasm and initiative; and employers value young people who are curious, motivated and ready to learn.
The good news is that there’s no need to do everything; and no need to wait until Year 13 to get started!
Beginning early gives you time to explore different possibilities, work out what interests you and gradually build up a bank of experiences you can draw on when applications and interviews come around.
So, be curious, try something new and see where it takes you.
Above all, enjoy it! The best learning often starts with curiosity, not a qualification.
