In Year Admissions

Thank you for your interest relating to in year admission for your child at St Joan of Arc Catholic School.

St Joan’s has an excellent reputation because of the consistently high levels of academic achievement and pastoral care we provide for our students.  As a consequence, we are highly over-subscribed in all year groups however, the Governors will always consider applications from parents who feel St Joan’s will provide the best education for their child.

In-Year Applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to the school by completing the in-year admissions application form and returning it to St Joan of Arc Catholic School, High Street, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, WD3 1HG. If your child is applying as a Catholic, a copy of their Baptism should be included with your application. If your child is a practising Catholic, then we also require a Certificate of Catholic Practice, which you would need to obtain from your local Parish Priest.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published over-subscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements will be applied.  To view our admission arrangements please select the relevant school year admission tab.  Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for more details.  Details will remain on the Continued Interest (CI) List for a period of one academic year. The school will then email parents with children on the CI List at the end of each summer term to ask if they wish to remain on the CI List for the next academic year.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.  The in-year appeal form can be found on the above link. Please also see refer to details in the Admissions Policy under the ‘Application Procedures and Timetable’ section.
