GCSE Examinations

I would like to offer my congratulations to all our students on a fantastic set of GCSE examination results. They are thoroughly deserved, you have worked tremendously hard for these qualifications and I hiope that, like the school, you are all proud of what you have achieved. 25.5% of grades awarded were in the highest band of 9 to 7, (A*/A in the old GCSE qualifications) in comparisson with a national avewrage of 20.5% whilst 81% of grades awarded were in band 9-4 (A*-C) where the national average was 66.7% This is a terrific achievement in a year when studnets have taken the majority of their exams in the new reformed GCSE's and is a reflection of their attitude and dedication towards their studies. I would also like to thank our staff who have supported our students and enabled them to achieve so much.   Mr Sweeney
