Admissions

ADMISSIONS

The school welcomes applications from parents and carers who wish their son or daughter to attend St Joan of Arc Catholic School.

The students of St Joan of Arc Catholic School are our greatest ambassadors and we are very proud of them. We therefore encourage all prospective students and their families to visit us so that you can meet our students and see this for yourself.

The school holds an open evening and open morning each October for Year 7 entry and in November for our Sixth Form. These events provide prospective students and their parents the opportunity to find out more about the school.

We welcome all enquiries. If you are unable to visit us on one of our Open Events we will arrange for a senior student to give you a personal tour of the school.

We invite all new students to an induction and orientation day in July in preparation for their admission in September. For the new Year 7 parents there is an induction evening when you will meet your child’s form tutor and ask any questions you may still have about St Joan’s.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Westminster have also produced guidance on applying for a Diocesan Catholic School. See document 'Choosing a Catholic school'

If there are any queries regarding the application process, either email admissions@joa.herts.sch.uk or call on 01923 587970 to speak with the Admissions Administrator.

Admissions 2018-2019

The school is part of the Catholic Diocese of Westminster and it is the Governors’ intention that maintaining the distinctive Catholic ethos of the school will always be their top priority. As a Catholic school, we aim to provide a Catholic education for all our pupils. At a Catholic school, Catholic doctrine and practice permeate every aspect of the school’s activity. It is essential that the Catholic character of the school’s education be fully supported by all families in the school. All applicants are therefore expected to give their full, unreserved and positive support for the aims and ethos of the school

In Year Admissions

Thank you for your interest relating to in-year admission for your child at St Joan of Arc Catholic School.

St Joan’s has an excellent reputation because of the consistently high levels of academic achievement and pastoral care we provide for our students.  As a consequence we are highly over-subscribed in all year groups however, the Governors will always consider applications from parents who feel St Joan’s will provide the best education for their child.

The Governors at St Joan’s are their own admitting authority and to be considered for a place you are requested to complete an In-Year Application Form (IYAF).  Should a place not be available your child will be placed on the CI List and you would be contacted should a place become available in the future.

Completed applications (Copy below) should be returned to:
