Chair of Governors Welcome

On behalf of the school, I am delighted to welcome you and your family to our school community at St Joan of Arc.

Your child is about to embark on what we hope will be an enjoyable and ultimately enriching period of their lives with us, and our aim at St. Joan’s is to provide them with nothing less than the best possible Catholic education.

We want to enable our students to develop into confident young people ready to meet the challenges and opportunities of life and adulthood. Our teachers and school staff are dedicated to ensuring a high standard of academic and pastoral provision.

Our school began its life in 1904 with just five pupils and over time we have grown in response to need and parental demand to accomodate over 1200 children today. St Joan of Arc is heavily oversubscribed with more than 700 children applying for one of our 210 places, for Year 7 admission.

The school has seen many developments in recent years, not least the installation of a 3G multi-sports field in the Autumn 2017.

We thank you for choosing our school and trusting us with the privilege of educating your child. The Headteacher, Mr Peter Sweeney, the staff and the Governors look forward to meeting with you and we aim to deliver the best outcome, that we possibly can, during your child’s time at the school.

Mr Tony Leahy
Chair of Governors
